We have fantastic news to share from the Partner In Education (PIE) Program! In a significant commitment to the future of our students, Coplin Health Systems has formalized not one, but two official school-business partnerships, signing on with both Blennerhassett Elementary School and Blennerhassett Middle School.

This is more than just a ceremony; it’s a strategic investment in the well-being of our school communities.

As a dedicated Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving the Mid-Ohio Valley, Coplin Health Systems has been a proactive partner for years, and this official double-signing solidifies its role as a true champion for local education. This marks Coplin's third PIE commitment, and they are already looking to expand to six additional schools—a truly inspiring pace!

Health Access On Campus: A Game-Changer

What makes this partnership so impactful is the focus on bringing essential health services directly to students and staff. Coplin is providing crucial resources, including access to mental health professionals and portable telehealth units. This initiative enables students and staff to connect with medical providers for primary and acute care visits without ever leaving the school grounds, thereby significantly reducing barriers such as transportation and missed class time.

Rob Dudley, President & CEO of Coplin Health Systems, shared the motivation behind their expanding partnerships:

"We believe this partnership will lead to healthier children and healthier staff. We partner with our schools in order to help them achieve their goals for student matriculation. We are thrilled to be on this wellness journey with Blennerhassett Middle and Elementary schools."

A Unified Vision for Student Success

The leaders at both Blennerhassett schools see this partnership as a powerful tool for achieving their own high standards of excellence.

Matt Null, Principal of Blennerhassett Middle School, emphasized the connection between wellness and academic achievement:

"We, Blennerhassett Middle School, are honored to partner with Coplin Heath Systems as Partners in Education... We look forward to developing our relationship with Coplin Health Systems as we strive towards the goal of academic excellence at Blennerhassett Middle School. It's a great day to be a Bobcat!"

The need for robust mental health support was also a key factor. Kristin Garretson, Principal of Blennerhassett Elementary, noted:

"This partnership will be a good fit for us because we are already working with Coplin to utilize their mental health resources... My hope is that through this partnership we’ll have access to more counselors here at school on a multiple day per week basis."

For all of us who understand the challenges facing our students, a commitment of this scale—bringing medical and behavioral health resources right to the schoolhouse door—is an exciting model for success across the district.
